Gosh, the second New Beginning event came up quick didn’t it? This week has really flown by and now it’s time for huge weekend of professional wrestling, with both NJPW and WWE holding big events. While Elimination Chamber is always fun, I’m much more excited for New Beginning in Osaka; this is a much stronger card than New Beginning in Sapporo and anything New Japan does is always going to beat out WWE’s current main roster product. New Japan Pro Wrestling kicked off the year with a phenomenal event in the form of Wrestle Kingdom 11, but it was at New Year Dash the very next day that the wheels were set in motion for what is likely to be one of the year’s biggest storylines, the return of the infamous Suzuki-gun. Minoru Suzuki and his band of killers haven’t been seen in NJPW for the better part of two years, but they are now looking to dominate the promotion, which will be no easy tasking considering the number of factions already vying for supremacy. There were a lot of key takeaways that will help shape the coming year for New Japan Pro Wrestling, with all of the company’s titles but one changing hands over the course of January 4th and 5th, but there are several major developments in particular that are bound to have major repercussions throughout 2017.
